Notes from Chad Henkel's presentation at #lawyernomics2016:

Website design best practices

Find your purpose and apply it to your website.

Ranking page should have at least 1000 words. Location in page title. Title used in tag

54% of time. Schema markup rank better. 

Visual best practices. Logo on top left. call to action top right. If you have a badge or been mentioned in the press, use it on the site. Don't nest your navigation. Don't use a slider. 35% more likely to get a call if you use a photo. Reinforce with headers and footers. 

Have chat and put picture of real person in chat box.

People want to call offices and not fill out forms.

When answering phone, name of firm is a must, not "law firm"

Be yourself, even on the webpage, even in your office design., (utilities to help you evaluate what public feels about your photos)

Picture on homepage or on attorney profile

Local landing pages for each locations. Practice area pages for each location (not duplicates).
